Virginia Tech’s bookstore features a full selection of new and used textbooks, Virginia Tech apparel, as well as home and auto decorative items. Virginia Tech bookstore customers are able to reserve all of their semester textbooks in advance by supplying the bookstore with their course schedule. For many students, convenience is the name of the game when it comes to their shopping decisions. The bookstore seems to recognize the importance of providing a convenient textbook solution for VT students, as staff members will reserve new or used books for the student to pick up within the first week of classes.

Virginia Tech’s University bookstore has recently started offering options for students that would like to rent textbooks too. Textbook rental services are available at both the University Bookstore and Volume Two store locations. VT students seeking a convenient rental service online will have to wait a bit longer though, as this service is not currently available online. Interested students can speak to a Virginia Tech University Bookstore associate by visiting in person or calling the separate locations.
Not all textbooks offered at the bookstore are available for rental at this time. However, those titles that are available to rent will result in a savings of 50% off the list price in most cases. Textbook rental is a great way for students to save money on textbooks they have no desire to keep after the end of the semester. Please note that students who choose to rent textbooks will not be able to sell the books back to the bookstore at the end of a term. Rented textbooks are not shipped, so VT students must pick up rentals in person at either of the two Virginia Tech bookstore locations.
Another off-campus option is a shop called the Tech Bookstore. Students that chose not to shop at the Virginia Tech University Bookstore for various reasons have often favorably reviewed the Tech Bookstore.
